Coronation Street creator Tony Warren has revealed that he plans to be on the set during the upcoming live episode.
As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations, the ITV soap will broadcast live in December.
Asked if he planned to be at the Manchester set during the live episode, Warren told Digital Spy: "[You can] bet your arse I'll be on set on the night!"
He also praised the recent BBC Four drama, The Road to Coronation Street, which told the story of the soap's birth.
"I thought it was terrific," he said. "I was deeply involved in the production of it. I thought it was splendid."
