The actor, who plays Jack Duckworth in the ITV1 soap, dressed up as Ida Fagg in 2004 to secure a place in the Rovers' ladies' bowls team.
Asked what the highlight of his time on the show has been, he told This Morning: "I enjoyed the wig and the frock."
He added that his fake boobs were made of sand, saying: "They had to take some sand out. I said, 'It's breaking my back!'. It was great fun, great fun."
Tarmey recently filmed his final scenes after playing Jack for over 30 years. They will be aired later this year.
Speaking of his departure, he said: "I'll miss everyone so much."
