According to The Sun today, the birth of the factory worker's first child could prove to be a turning point for the show's surviving characters as they deal with the devastation which has hit their lives.
As announced back in July, Corrie will lose some much-loved regulars this December when a tram careers off the viaduct and on to the street below.
A source said: "The 'Great Tram Crash' will make great compulsive viewing but bosses don't want it to be all doom and gloom. The birth of baby Hope will show viewers and characters alike that life goes on.
"There will be some really tender scenes. Everyone loves a baby and the residents will be queueing up to meet her."
Fiz announced her pregnancy in August amid a crisis which had hit her marriage to schemer John Stape (Graeme Hawley).
Although the couple have since resolved their differences, Fiz is still unaware of the huge secrets that John is hiding over the late Colin Fishwick - meaning that there could still be turmoil ahead for the pair.
