The acid-tongued matriarch, who was written out of the show earlier this year after the real-life death of actress Maggie Jones, was chosen by almost a third of the respondents in the Inside Soap poll.
Hilda Ogden, played by Jean Alexander, came second, while Vera Duckworth, who was portrayed by Liz Dawn and recently made a brief cameo as a ghost, was voted the third-favourite character to have walked the cobbles.
In a poll for the sexiest women to have appeared on Corrie, Michelle Keegan's character Tina McIntyre attracted the most votes, while factory owner Carla Connor, played by Alison King, took second place.
Liam Connor (Rob James-Collier), Ciaran Murphy (Keith Duffy) and Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward) made up the top three sexiest men.
