Jennie McAlpine: 'Fiz situation not ideal'

Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine has admitted that her character's current family situation is far from ideal.

The actress plays Fiz Stape, who recently gave birth to a baby girl but remains unaware of husband John's murderous tendencies.

According to PA, she said: "She's not got the ideal situation. She's not got what she hoped for when she dreamt of being pregnant and having a family. She's got the husband, but he buried someone under the factory, etc.

"She doesn't know that, of course, but it's not ideal. She would have liked a 2.4 children situation, especially as she went through so much as a kid with her mum. She just wanted everything to be perfect and it's far from perfect."

John recently planted bunny boiler Charlotte Hoyle in the wreckage of the tram crash after knocking her unconscious, leading to her life support machine being switched off.
