Viewers have recently seen the former EastEnders actress appearing on the cobbles in the role of DC Moore, who has been investigating the New Year's Eve attack on Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
Shah's Weatherfield appearance is her most high-profile part since her stint as Walford's Kareena Ferreira between 2003 and 2005.
Speaking to The Sun, the 31-year-old explained: "I hope I can come back to Corrie. The guy that plays the policeman with me has been brought back a few times so I'm hoping they will do the same with me.
"We were the whole time saying we'd be a great double act really loudly and saying we should get our own spinoff. Everyone knew we'd be very keen to come back, even in new roles. I had such a great time and I was really upset when the filming finished.
"It was a great part. I'm used to roles working with police before. You can do good cop, bad cop so it's great fun."
Discussing how her Corrie stint could affect her career, she added: "I'm not expecting miracles but I'm hoping something will come up, or maybe I'll be put back into someone's mind who would have forgotten me. I was just grateful to get that job to be honest."
Earlier this week, fans saw Claire Peacock (Julia Haworth) dramatically confess to the attack on Tracy.
