Next week's episodes see Eileen succumb to temptation while balancing Owen's books, pocketing a £10,000 cheque for herself in the hope that he will not notice the money is missing.
The mum-of-two commits her crime as she faces a financial crisis because thousands of pounds' worth of damage have been caused to her roof due to the tram crash.
Speaking to Inside Soap about the plotline, Cleaver explained: "Eileen's petrified because she knows what a nasty piece of work Owen is - and, at the end of the day, she's broken the law.
"Owen isn't a pussycat like Lloyd and Steve - he doesn't take prisoners. I think Eileen's right to be afraid! Owen has the potential to be an amazing Corrie villain. After what he did to Jim McDonald, it's clear that he's not to be messed with. He's definitely one to watch."
Asked whether Eileen could fix her woes by seducing Owen, the actress replied: "No, she doesn't like him at all now. After the way he treated her over Liz, he isn't someone she would ever have those feelings for again."
Reports suggest that Owen will issue a sinister threat to Eileen after he discovers her betrayal.
