Mikey North: 'Fans want to date Debbie'

Coronation Street's Mikey North has revealed that male viewers are impressed by his on-screen mother's new look.

North - Gary Windass in the ITV soap - told the TV Times that Debbie Rush's weight loss has won her lots of attention.

"She looks fab," he said. "You get all the guys coming up to you on the street saying how much they want to do things they shouldn't do to your mum."

He admitted that he was looking forward to watching his co-star's fitness DVD Bulge Buster.

"I've not seen the DVD yet but I'll have to give her a watch and rib her for it," he said.

Discussing his working relationship with Rush, he added: "She bosses me about like I'm her real son and I give her the lip back. She's great to work with."
