In scenes which air next month, elderly client Enid passes away while in the hairdressing chair, just moments after praising the talents of Audrey's grandson and employee David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd).
According to the Daily Star, Enid gushes: "Isn't David wonderful at washing hair? I'd never let anyone else wash my hair since he did it."
Fans will apparently also see Enid enjoying some bourbon biscuits during her visit. However, when fellow customer Emily Bishop (Eileen Derbyshire) asks to be handed one of the snacks, everyone is shocked to discover that Enid has passed away suddenly.
It is thought that an ambulance soon arrives on the scene but paramedics are unable to revive the pensioner - leaving Audrey shaken.
However, DS can confirm that, contrary to some reports today, there is no suggestion that Audrey is responsible for the death and she does not face any legal repercussions over the matter.
