Foote: 'Katy and Chesney could last'

Georgia May Foote has revealed that she hopes her Coronation Street alter ego Katy stays with boyfriend Chesney.

Speaking to Inside Soap, the 20-year-old actress said that she works well with co-star Sam Aston, who she trained with as a child.

She said: "I'd like to see them make a go of it, they're a sweet couple - as long as Chesney does as he's told!

"I really enjoy working with Sam Aston too - we went to drama school at the same time. We have a laugh, and the writers reflect that on screen."

Referring to the Armstrong clan, Foote added: "They all have a feisty streak, which I love. It would be great if Katy's mum turned up and caused some trouble for Owen."

The star also tipped Suranne Jones to return: "Suranne Jones is an amazing actress, and I'd have liked for her to be our mum if she hadn't already played Karen McDonald in Corrie."
