Corrie star Brooke Vincent has declared that she couldn't be called a WAG because she has a job.

Vincent spoke to the Daily Star amid rumours of a romance between her and Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, although she denies that they are in a relationship.

The actress, who plays Sophie Webster, joked: "I don't think I'd be classed as a WAG - a lot of them don't work."

Discussing 19-year-old Wilshere, who she met a few months ago, Vincent said: "Jack is my friend and we've been speaking. If anything was to happen between us it's something that I'd want to get my head round first before telling the whole world about it all.

"He does what he does and that just happens to be playing football. He's a great lad. I certainly wouldn't have a problem dating a footballer, especially if I really fancied them.

"I received a dozen red roses at the Corrie set on Valentine's Day. So maybe I have a secret admirer. I asked Jack if he sent them and he denied they were from him.

"Then at 11pm he was trying to claim they were from him when he had already admitted they weren't!"

Although Vincent rejected the WAG title for herself, she said that co-star Helen Flanagan, who is dating Swansea City player Scott Sinclair, was perfect for it.

"She's going to be the next Victoria Beckham, that one," said Vincent. "She really is the most glamorous person I know. She's always going off to London to spend time with Scott. I'm sure she could definitely give me a few tips." Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
