The actress's irresponsible alter ego returns to the cobbles later this week, when she is revealed as the mystery girl from Tenerife who is now engaged to David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd).
In the aftermath of Kylie's comeback, viewers will see her start work with David at the salon and begin excitedly planning their wedding.
Speaking to Take It Easy, Lane commented: "It'll be fun going to work in the salon with David. It's been great playing Kylie as a bitch, but it's nice to open new doors and experiment with the character.
"I'm hoping to bring a bit more fun to the screen after such a serious start."
Discussing how Kylie's time abroad has changed her, the star said: "She's a lot more energetic. After all, she's had three months of sunbathing all day and working at night and while everyone's coping with the aftermath of the tram crash, she's been having the time of her life.
"She's also picked up a few influences out there too and has been experimenting with her style, which has been quite fun to play."
Corrie bosses recently confirmed that Lane had extended her contract, keeping her on screen until at least 2012.
