Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has confirmed that Tina McIntyre's relationship with Graeme Proctor will come under strain over the next few weeks.

As revealed earlier this year, the actress's alter ego will soon hatch a plot for Graeme to marry her old friend Xin (Elizabeth Tan), allowing her to stay in the country once her student visa expires. Tina's plan involves staging a public break-up with Graeme, who subsequently starts 'dating' Xin.

However, speaking to All About Soap, Keegan admitted: "Tina soon finds it hard watching Graeme and Xin pretend to be a couple. She's jealous, which she hadn't expected. Tina loves Graeme and they're best mates so it's hard for them not to be together.

"She wonders whether they've done the right thing, but they're too far down the line now. Tina, Graeme and Xin have to keep the lie going - but they haven't thought things through properly."

Of Tina and Graeme, she added: "There's a lot of jealousy between them, which is never good for any couple. Tina thinks Xin and Graeme will marry and go their separate ways, but it may not work out that way - they could be heading for heartbreak."

Craig Gazey, who plays Graeme, will leave Coronation Street later this year.
