The actress, who will film her final scenes as Liz McDonald this week, told The Mirror that filming with Lawson (Jim McDonald) and Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) reminded her of "the old days" on the ITV1 soap.
Teasing plot developments following Liz's return to the Street last night, Callard revealed: "I can't give too much away, but Jim basically turns up when Liz needs him most - he's her knight in shining armour and they have the most amazing chemistry!
"I've loved working with Charlie again. We're like the Liz Taylor and Richard Burton of the Street!"
She continued: "Working with Charlie and Simon again was just like the old days. They had me in stitches most of the time. We'd be filming a really dramatic scene, and they'd be making me laugh. I was so excited to be working with them both again."
