Corrie star: 'Tina is wary of Norris'

Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has admitted that her character Tina McIntyre is keeping a close watch on busybody Norris Cole as she tries to deceive her friends and neighbours.

In the past fortnight, Tina has made a desperate attempt to keep her Chinese friend Xin in the country by convincing boyfriend Graeme (Craig Gazey) to marry the waitress in a sham wedding.

Last week, Tina and Graeme kicked off the pretence by staging a public break-up in The Rovers. Since then, Graeme and Xin have been posing as a couple.

However, speaking to PA, Keegan explained that Norris (Malcolm Hebden) could throw a spanner in the works if he ever rumbled Tina's plan.

Keegan said: "She knows what Norris is like. He likes a bit of a gossip and he likes to stir trouble, so she's got her eye on him at the moment."

She added: "I don't think she'll be able to handle Norris. She will just get too wound up by him."

Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 8.30pm on ITV1.
