Sylvie, played by former Doc Martin star Stephanie Cole, has been tipped to make her mark as an outspoken Blanche Hunt-style character when she joins the show next month.
According to The Sun, scenes recently filmed for the soap saw Hayley offer Sylvie a lift home in husband Roy's classic car - only to find herself on the receiving end of her bad temper.
It is thought that fans will see Sylvie complain about Hayley's driving and force her to pull over before storming out of the car - leaving the mild-mannered factory supervisor stunned.
Sylvie was mentioned on screen in last Friday's double bill after getting in touch with Roy to explain that his stepfather had passed away.
Julie Hesmondhalgh, who plays Hayley, recently described Sylvie as "quite fierce" and a "cat amongst the pigeons".
Stephanie Cole started filming at Corrie a month ago.
