Chris Fountain 'bored of Corrie cast tan jokes'

Chris Fountain has reportedly grown tired of his Coronation Street co-stars joking about his fake tan.

The actor began filming the role of Tommy Duckworth in February and made his on-screen debut late last month. However, according to The Sun, Fountain has been on the receiving end of taunts about his tan.

His co-star Michelle Keegan - who plays Tina McIntyre in the Weatherfield drama - revealed that Craig Gazey (Graeme Proctor) leads the male cast in ribbing Fountain.

"All the lads take the mick because his fake tan is so extreme," she said. "He's getting bored with Craig calling him Chris Foun-tan now."

A set source claimed that the former Hollyoaks star spends more time in make-up than many of his female co-stars.

"Chris is very attentive to his looks," the insider said. "His fake tan has become a standing joke - but so far he seems to have taken it in good sport. When you're new to a show you're likely to be put under the microscope.

They added: "None of the bosses has told him to go steady on the tan yet, and that's the only thing that matters."

It was revealed yesterday that Fountain has made it onto the shortlist for the 'Sexiest Male' award at the British Soap Awards next month.
