'Coronation Street' pub gets new landlady
Bev Callard's Coronation Street character Liz McDonald is to get the most prestigious job in soapland later this year when she is named as the new landlady of the Rovers Return.

Of her newly-acquired position, Bev said: "I'm really excited, I can't wait."

Storyline details regarding the changing of hands of the Rovers have yet to be confirmed but it is likely that it will coincide with the departures of current landlord Fred Elliot (John Savident), manageress Shelley Unwin (Sally Lindsay) and her on-screen mother Bev Unwin (Susie Blake).
