Michelle Keegan: 'I want the old Tina back'

Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has admitted that she wants to see her character return to her feisty self.

The actress joined the soap in 2008 as Tina McIntyre, who more recently hatched a plan for boyfriend Graeme (Craig Gazey) to marry her friend Xin (Elizabeth Tan) so that she could get a visa - a storyline Keegan remains
unconvinced by.

She told the News of the World: "I think it was a bit silly that no one really knew who Xin was, or that she was supposed to be Tina's friend, and maybe they should have introduced her earlier. But I don't want to slag off the writers.

"But I do miss the Tina of old and I'd definitely love to see her come back on top form. I think she needs to break up with Graeme, get single and sow her wild oats. I'd be all for that."

Keegan has been dating The Wanted's Max George since December.

"I do want marriage and kids for myself, but I'm not looking at wedding dresses yet," she added. "For now I can't believe how amazing my life has turned out. I still pinch myself that I'm pulling pints on Corrie and that I've got a man like Max."
