Brooke Vincent: 'I'm straight and single'

Brooke Vincent has revealed that she is straight, despite portraying lesbian Sophie Webster in Coronation Street.

The actress has previously spoken about her pride at being part of the first same-sex female couple on the cobbles with Sacha Parkinson, who plays Sian Powers, but admitted to Reveal that she is single in real life.

"Please tell the fellas I'm not gay. I don't have a boyfriend at the moment but I'm definitely straight," Vincent joked.

"I'm single with no special fella in my life right now because I feel I'm in a good place with my acting and just concentrating on my role in Corrie. It's regular work and it's good for me."

The 18-year-old added: "If a boyfriend comes along, so be it. The best advice my mum has ever given me is to go with your heart."

Vincent was previously linked with Manchester City footballer Adam Johnson, while Parkinson has admitted that Corrie fans often think she and Vincent are lovers in real life.
