Corrie star surprised by Fiz, John longevity

Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine has said that her alter ego's relationship with John Stape has surprised her.

The actress, who plays Stape's wife Fiz in the Manchester serial, admitted that she believed the relationship would end after John abducted Rosie Webster two years ago.

She told The Mirror: "The first time he had the affair with Rosie I thought, 'That's it. Fiz will never forgive him'.

"But how many times has she forgiven him? That's why this one is it. He may have gone too far this time."

Teasing next week's episodes, McAlpine added: Her only thought is to get Hope off John. He's very close to the edge and it looks like he may jump at any minute without thinking it through. It's really scary. In fact, it was even frightening when we filmed it."
