Final 9pm Corrie pulls in 9.7m

Graeme Hawley's final turn as John Stape pulled in nearly 9.7m viewers last night, early viewing figures indicate.

Stape's dramatic exit attracted 9.4m (40.5%) at 9pm, alongside a further 280k on ITV1 +1.

Both Emmerdale (7pm) and EastEnders (8pm) suffered earlier on, with the former grabbing 5.72m (35.5%), and the latter taking 5.02m (22.9%) versus Britain's Got Talent.

However, BBC Three's 'Enders 10pm repeat managed 1.19m (5.2%) for Shirley's ultimatum to Phil.

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks plummeted to 628k (4.2%) at 6.30pm, after which E4's first look had 240k (1.5%).

Elsewhere, affected by the hot weather, Doctors averaged just 1.07m (15.3%) at 1.45pm for an episode titled 'You Gotta Have Faith', while Neighbours grabbed 568k (8.1%) at the same time.

Ramsay Street welcomed 1.15m (9.9%) more at 5.30pm, then a shocking discovery from Colleen in Home and Away was seen by 740k (5.3%). 5*'s first look then fetched 433k (2.9%) at 6.30pm.
