Coronation Street factory worker Julie Carp is to launch her own business in a forthcoming storyline, a report has claimed.

The batty blonde - played by Katy Cavanagh - teams up with love interest Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) to open up a fruit and veg store after their romance becomes serious later this year, according to The Sun.

It is thought that the pair open the business in the empty retail space which housed Ashley Peacock's butcher shop before his tragic death last December.

Coronation Street bosses are reportedly hoping that the new business will help to set a good example by showing the benefits of a healthy diet.

A Weatherfield source told the newspaper: "The idea is to teach viewers about healthy eating, without preaching."

Coronation Street crew members are thought to currently be working on the new set, which is expected to be seen on screen from the autumn.
