Coronation Street's Sylvia Cropper will reportedly alienate customers when she is left in charge of Roy's Rolls.

Stephanie Cole joined the Manchester serial as Roy's outspoken mother earlier this year. The comical scenes will occur when Roy (David Neilson) and Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) go on holiday.

The couple could end up regretting their decision when Sylvia threatens to lose them business by implementing extra charges, reports the Daily Star.

Among her ideas is to charge customers for salt, ketchup and having milk in their tea and coffee. Meanwhile, as well as cutting down the portion sizes, the feisty pensioner introduces a fee for using the cafe's toilet facilities.

One scene, to air next month, will apparently see Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment) ask for a refund, telling Sylvia that he wants his money back because "it was a false alarm".

Cole previously described her alter ego as a "tremendous battleaxe", but hinted that she could show a vulnerable side, saying: "As is so often the case with battleaxes, it's actually a bit of a cover."
