The soap world lost one of its most legendary stars today as Coronation Street actress Betty Driver passed away at the age of 91.
Driver's showbiz career spanned eight decades, with stints in the West End and entertaining troops during the Second World War before she landed her iconic role as Betty Williams in the ITV show in 1969.
Over 2,800 Coronation Street episodes (and countless hotpots) later, Driver died peacefully in hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning, leading to a flood of tributes from her Corrie colleagues.
