'Coronation Street's Kate Ford has no plans to quit

Coronation Street star Kate Ford has confirmed that she has no plans to leave the show.

The actress, who plays superbitch Tracy Barlow in the ITV1 soap, had been rumoured to be considering quitting.

"I haven't even thought about leaving as I love my job," Ford told the Sunday Mirror. "Everywhere I go people say, 'Are you going to leave?'

"It's because when Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald) quit, the story went out that I was ­leaving too. But I was always going to stay for as long as they would have me."

She added: "I think Tracy has ­always hoped that once Becky was out of the way that her life would be a whole lot easier. But after what's happened since, it will be far from that.

"I think there's a lot more drama on the way. There are loads of twists and turns with this story. Steve and Tracy might be planning their wedding but it will be far from straightforward."

Ford recently admitted that it is fun to play Tracy since she gets to say the most "ridiculous" and "vicious" things.
