Stephanie Beacham rules out 'Coronation Street' return

Stephanie Beacham has admitted that she cannot see herself returning to Coronation Street in the future.
The former Dynasty actress joined the ITV1 soap for a three-month guest stint in early 2009, portraying the role of Martha Fraser - who was a love interest for married Ken Barlow.

Beacham has now told PA that she cannot think of a realistic storyline which would bring about Martha's return.
"I liked her, I thought she was really down to earth and much more like I really am," Beacham explained. "But I don't see how she could go back, this is the trouble, because she's a woman of such integrity.
"She found out [Ken] was married, she still loved him, but said, 'You either leave your wife or I'm leaving', and Deirdre kept him and I went on. When she sailed off on her barge, I thought she had made the correct decision."
The 64-year-old added that she particularly enjoyed starring alongside Bill Roache, who has played the role of Ken since 1960.
"I was quite fearful that he might be some sort of male diva… I thought he's the King of Corrie and in fact he was so humble, and had such a beautiful attitude, and I just loved working with him," she said.
Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.
