POTD: 'Coronation Street's Peter Barlow lies to police

Coronation Street's Peter Barlow panics in tonight's (March 9) double bill as he finds himself firmly in the frame for Frank Foster's murder.

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) still can't remember what he was doing on the night of Frank's death, but when the police come knocking and take him down to the station for an interview, he has a cover story prepared.

The Weatherfield bookie tells detectives that he was at home with Carla (Alison King) the whole time and couldn't have killed Frank, but the authorities are one step ahead - informing him that they have proof he bought a whisky bottle from an off licence after 11pm that night.

Under tough questioning, Peter is finally forced to admit that he has no memory of the night in question as he was drunk. With a whisky bottle also suspected as the murder weapon, is Peter close to being charged?

Back at the station, the police demand to know how Peter bought a bottle of whisky from an off license when he was supposed to be at home, with Carla. Peter panics as the police form a case against him
