'Coronation Street' pips 'EastEnders' in Friday soap ratings

Coronation Street pulled slightly ahead of EastEnders yesterday evening (Friday, April 27), according to overnight data.

Sally and Kevin's will-they-won't-they reunion pulled in 7.81m (37.1%) for ITV1 at 7.30pm (+1: 143k/0.6%) and 7.85m (34.4%) an hour later at 8.30pm (+1: 230k/1%).

A Bianca-themed EastEnders took 7.27m (33%) at 8pm and 689k (3.5%) for BBC Three's 10pm repeat.

Emmerdale logged 6.49m (33.4%) at 7pm (+1: 127k/0.6%) as vicar Ashley was arrested, while Hollyoaks claimed 774k (4.3%) as well as 413k (2.1%) for E4's first look at 7pm.

Elsewhere, Neighbours mustered 714k (9.6%) at 1.45pm and 855k (5.8%) at 5.30pm, while fellow Aussie soap Home and Away grabbed 673k (4%) at 6pm and 496k (2.8%) for its first-look edition half an hour later.

Meanwhile, the latest instalment of Doctors - titled 'The Lunatics, The Lovers and The Poets' - appealed to 1.56m (21.1%).
