'Coronation Street': 6.8m watch Leanne, Nick backlash

Coronation Street was Wednesday evening's (June 27) most-watched soap as Leanne and Nick's reunion dramas continued, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield drama pulled in 6.79m (32.4%) at 7.30pm and 288k (1.2%) on +1 as Eva, Stella and Peter all voiced disapproval over Leanne and Nick's decision. The episode clashed with Euro 2012 coverage over on BBC One.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 5.84m (32.2%) at 7pm and 204k (0.9%) on timeshift as Val's antics ruined Amy's birthday.

Hollyoaks appealed to 966k (5.7%) as scheming Mercedes was rushed to hospital, while E4's first look interested 489k (2.7%) at 7pm and 116k (0.5%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 658k (10.0%) at 1.45pm and 826k (6.3%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 670k (4.3%) at 6pm and 475k (2.8%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
