POTD: 'Coronation Street's Lloyd in return dramas

Coronation Street's Steve McDonald has a heated showdown with Weatherfield returnee Lloyd Mullaney this evening.

Steve (Simon Gregson) is surprised to come face-to-face with Lloyd in tonight's (July 2) double bill of the soap, and is soon left pitying his old friend as it becomes clear that he has fallen on hard times.

The pair's reunion comes when Steve spots that a cash-strapped Lloyd (Craig Charles) has broken down while working for another cab firm. Deciding to help him out, Steve invites a delighted Lloyd back to work at Streetcars.

Steve's kind gesture has an unexpected outcome, however, as optimistic Lloyd wrongly assumes that he can become co-owner once again and begins arranging a bank loan.

Following a stressful day, Steve eventually loses his temper with Lloyd - making it clear that he's not selling shares after the mess Lloyd left him in with Becky last time. As Lloyd gets offended, it seems that a bitter rivalry could be brewing between the pair…

Steve sets Lloyd straight, telling him that he only invited him back into the company as a driver and not a partner
