'Coronation Street' ratings rock solid for Sunday night episode

Coronation Street's Sunday evening edition retained a respectable 7 million viewers yesterday (July 15), overnight data shows.

At 7.30pm, an episode which saw Peter prepare to flee Weatherfield with Simon attracted 6.6m (29.3%) to ITV1, adding 396k (1.7%) an hour later on +1.

This comes despite a 500k lower lead-in from Emmerdale, which could only muster 4.56m (22.4%) at 7pm.

Marlon Dingle's ultimatum to Paddy and Rhona over his son Leo was seen by a further 342k (1.5%) on timeshift.

The Coronation Street Omnibus was screened in the morning to an audience of 319k (4%), a marginal improvement on last week's figure.

The Hollyoaks Omnibus, meanwhile, managed just 60k (0.8%) from the early time of 8.45am.
