The comic actor told The Mirror that his mother would also persuade him to star on Strictly Come Dancing.

Whitehall said: "I love Strictly and I got the email asking me to do it and I got it when I was on holiday with my mum and dad so I had to hide my computer.
"I knew if my mum saw the email she would reply, 'Yes, he will do it', and force me into doing it. Maybe one day.
"And If Coronation Street ever come knocking I couldn't turn it down, it would destroy her."
A number of celebrities have been linked with a Corrie cameo in the past year, including Cheryl Cole, Julie Walters and Snoop Dogg.
His new sitcom Bad Education started on BBC Three last night (August 14).
