'Deirdre' weeps over family history
Coronation Street actress Anne Kirkbride was reduced to tears while filming a new ITV family history programme.

The 52-year-old, who plays the Cobbles' Dierdre Barlow, visited Ireland shortly after the death of her father Jack last month in a bid to discover how her ancestors lived during the famine .

Of her journey down memory lane, Anne told The Sun: "I was very close to my dad. My parents are both gone now and it's just me. I want to find out where it all started."

You Don't Know You're Born is similar to the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are?, which is based on the same concept.

The ITV1 series also takes a look at the lives of comedian Alan Davies and Rebus star Ken Stott.
