Tina is shocked to have made Kirsty's water break in the Rovers, and Marcus panics that there isn't enough time to call an ambulance

Coronation Street claimed 6.6m viewers with Kirsty Soames's labour scenes on Sunday evening (September 9), overnight figures show.

The ITV1 soap pulled in 6.61m (29.8%) at 7pm on ITV1 with its hour-long episode, which saw Kirsty give birth at The Rovers following a clash with arch-enemy Tina.

A further 285k (1.1%) caught the episode on ITV1+1 an hour later.

The figures were up on the previous weekend's Sunday special, which had 5.87m in the same 7pm slot.
