Friday's double bill started with 8m (37.2%) at 7.30pm as Gail's plan to trap Lewis failed, with 131,000 on +1, then Lewis's subsequent decision to leave Audrey pulled in 7.79m (32.4%) at 8.30pm as well as 234k on timeshift.
EastEnders edged into runners-up position with 7.17m (30.7%) for an episode which saw Danny exact his revenge on Christian and Syed. BBC Three's 10.30pm catchup edition added a further 376k (2.2%), while the Omnibus back on BBC One attracted 411k (8.9%) from midnight.
Emmerdale was close to matching EastEnders as ITV's rural soap commanded 7.13m (34%) in its usual 7pm slot, appealing to a further 125k an hour later.
Finally, Neighbours fetched 524k (6.8%) at 1.45pm and 1.03m (6.1%) at 5.30pm for its latest edition, and Home and Away managed 772k (4.1%) at 6pm before 5*'s first look took 415k (2.1%).
