'Coronation Street' stars to appear in ITV 'Christmas Carols' show

Coronation Street cast members will appear on a special ITV1 Christmas show later this month.

Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) and other familiar faces from the cobbles are taking part in Christmas Carols on ITV, which celebrates and tells the Christmas story from St James Church in Didsbury, Manchester.

Catherine Tyldesley (Eva Price), tenor Russell Watson, Britain's Got Talent stars Jonathan and Charlotte, and British army singing trio The Soldiers are among those who will be performing on the programme.

The service also includes Christmas readings from Weatherfield regulars Roache, Sally Dynevor (Sally Webster) and Shobna Gulati (Sunita Alahan).

Meanwhile, Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley Cropper) and Samia Ghadie (Maria Connor) have recorded special items celebrating family, friends and generosity at Christmas as they team up with loved ones to help out their local communities over the festive period.
