When asked by Corrie's official website whether his kiss with McAlpine was at all awkward, he answered: "You know, it's probably far worse for Jenny to kiss me than it is for me to kiss Jenny.

"She's got stubble rash, God bless her, because I'm so bloody hairy. It is good fun, it's a nice story and we've enjoyed it."

Reflecting on his character's current emotional position, Halsall commented: "In one way, he's really happy - he's got Ruby, the daughter he has always wanted, but then his home situation with Kirsty and the domestic violence is obviously overshadowing everything."

Tyrone shares another kiss with Fiz on Friday, but their second embrace is spotted by Tina McIntyre.

The former mechanic is set to marry Kirsty in order to win custody of daughter Ruby.
