'Coronation Street': Tyrone, Kirsty special brings in 8.1m

Coronation Street was Wednesday evening's (December 19) most-watched soap with Tyrone and Kirsty's special episode, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield drama pulled in 8.1m (35.9%) at 7.30pm on ITV1 and 454k (2.0%) on +1 as a tough day for Tyrone led to another violent outburst from his unstable fiancée.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 6.72m (31.9%) at 7pm and 322k (1.5%) on +1 as a vengeful Debbie gave evidence at Chas's trial.

Hollyoaks interested 1.01m (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 117k (0.5%) an hour later with a big episode for Ste and Brendan, while E4's first look had 550k (2.6%) at 7pm and 123k (0.6%) on +1.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.4m (20.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
