The actress said that she grew tired of wearing the full bridal outfit while filming Leanne's Christmas Day wedding to Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).
Danson told The Sun: "I got married at Christmas time myself so it felt quite weird filming a wedding at the same time.
"It's a really lovely winter wonderland setting though and it's got a lovely Christmas theme.
"Mind you, I am not so sure about the wedding dress. On day two it felt like a novelty but by day 18 of wearing it I was like, 'OMG! I have spent more time in this dress than my own!' I was so over it by the end."
Leanne has struggled to choose between her fiance Nick and her ex-husband Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) on the soap. Viewers will be kept guessing on Leanne's final choice up until the Christmas Day episode.
Danson admitted that she doesn't envy the drama surrounding any of the three characters.
"I think it would be exhausting being Leanne, Peter or Nick," she said.
"They can't enjoy themselves, they don't ever relax and they are always looking over their shoulders, upsetting someone, lying or deceiving.
"Obviously it is fun to play things out that you couldn't get away with in the real world, but Leanne's life is always so tangled.
"She is one of those characters whose quest for happiness will be eternal.
"Even when she does find happiness, she ruins it.
"I can plan my own life but with Leanne's I never know what is going to happen next. You can never second guess it!"
An hour-long Coronation Street special will air tomorrow (December 24) at 7.30 pm, while the climax to the storyline will be shown on Christmas Day on ITV1 at 7.30 pm.
