Coronation Street's Ben Price has spoken about the "believable" scenes he filmed with co-star Paula Lane.

A recent storyline has seen Price, who plays Nick Tilsley in the ITV1 soap, and Lane (Kylie Platt) film scenes where their characters have a passionate fling.

Speaking about the Christmas storyline between Nick and his sister-in-law Kylie, Price told The Sun: "Nick and Kylie both go for it - it was a pretty passionate kiss and we had to make it believable."

He also added that the Platt family don't "brush things under the carpet", so the storyline, which develops as Kylie discovers she is pregnant but doesn't know who the father is, "could get messy".

Price, 40, continued: "None of them are shy at coming forward so it will be very fiery."

Price compared filming the steamy scenes to when he starred as Conrad Gates in Footballers' Wives, saying that he's "done a lot worse" off the cobbles.

He said: "In one episode of Footballers' Wives, I was on a plane fully nude with Zöe Lucker. And in another episode, I walked through a hotel in Thailand completely naked. It was quite shocking!"

Price also spoke about the future of Nick and Leanne Barlow's relationship in the soap, likening it to that of iconic couple Ken and Deirdre.

He said: "They're doomed to stay together. It's like Ken and Deirdre - they're together, but they each keep going off. That's the blueprint to how relationships work in soap." Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
