'Coronation Street' Fiz plot brings in 9.4m on Wednesday

Coronation Street performed strongly on Wednesday evening (January 2) with the aftermath of Fiz Stape's carbon monoxide scare, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield soap pulled in 9.44m (39.1%) at 7.30pm on ITV1 and 382k (1.5%) on +1 as Fiz's loved ones rushed to her bedside and Tommy covered for Tyrone over the dodgy boiler repair.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 7.4m (32.3%) at 7pm and 316k (1.3%) on +1 as Rishi continued to worry over Jai's behaviour.

Holby City appealed to 4.4m (17.8%) at 8pm on BBC One with an episode titled 'Blood Ties'.

Hollyoaks interested 1.19m (5.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Ruby's bullying of Esther reached new heights, while E4's first look had 717k (3.1%) at 7pm and 123k (0.5%) on +1.

Elsewhere, Doctors returned to screens with 1.56m (16.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
