'Coronation Street': Nick, Leanne latest brings in 8.9m on Wednesday

Coronation Street was Wednesday evening's (January 9) most-watched soap with Nick's big decision, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield drama pulled in 8.93m (38.5%) at 7.30pm on ITV1 and 332k (1.4%) on +1 as Nick agreed to give Leanne another chance and go ahead with their rebooked wedding.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 7.49m (34.3%) at 7pm and 257k (1.1%) on +1 as Charity and Jai resolved to make their marriage work.

Hollyoaks interested 1.04m (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Bart and Joel's exits from the show, while E4's first look had 700k (3.2%) at 7pm and 111k (0.5%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Home and Away entertained 657k (3.4%) at 6pm and 502k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.39m (20.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
