Hollyoaks took home five awards, including 'Best Actress' for Claire Cooper and 'Sexiest Male' for Danny Mac.

Emmerdale won two awards including 'Best Single Episode' for last year's live episode in celebration of their 40th anniversary, while EastEnders won just one honour, as Ian Beale actor Adam Woodyatt was given the 'Lifetime Achievement Award'.

It was Coronation Street's domestic abuse storyline that was the night's big winner, as it scooped 'Best Storyline' and Natalie Gumede walked away with 'Best Villain' and 'Best Dramatic Performance'.

Alan Halsall won 'Best Actor' for his portrayal of abuse victim Tyrone Dobbs.

Michelle Keegan won the award for 'Sexiest Female' again and beat off competition from co-star Georgia May Foote, Hollyoaks's Jorgie Porter, Emmerdale's Natalie Anderson and EastEnders' Jacqueline Jossa.

Meanwhile, Patti Clare triumphed in the 'Best Comedy Performance' category for her role as Mary Taylor in Coronation Street and Hollyoaks took home 'Spectacular Scene of the Year' for the bus crash stunt.

The 2013 British Soap Awards air tomorrow night (May 19) at 8pm on ITV.
