Ex-Corrie actor pays tribute to Liz Dawn
Former Coronation Street actor Nigel Pivaro has spoken about his admiration for departing cast member Liz Dawn.

Pivaro played Liz's on-screen son Terry Duckworth, who frequently upset Street favourite Vera with his bad-boy antics.

Nigel has revealed that his best memories of his time on the soap involve Dawn, who recently announced that she is quitting due to ill health.

"It was because of Liz that the Duckworths became so popular - observing her with fans was something to behold. She would play up to them, chatting as Vera," Nigel told The Mirror. "Liz never forgot she was a factory girl from East Leeds. Fans would often take her to one side and warn her to keep away from me! And they never thought twice about telling me what a ratbag I was either.

"Liz is also one of the few cast members who is a true fan of the show. I remember the respect she showed to original cast members. When Doris Speed, who played Annie Walker, walked into rehearsals Liz would stop talking and become demure. But her greatest admiration was for Pat Phoenix, who played Elsie Tanner. Liz was in awe of her - especially as she came from a similar tough background."
