Bruce Jones to perform with Status Quo

Former Coronation Street star Bruce Jones has agreed to perform with Status Quo this week.

The actor, who played Les Battersby on the ITV1 soap for ten years, is friends with band members Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt. He will join them for a gig in Skegness on Friday night.

Jones encouraged the group to make a guest appearance on Corrie two years ago. They performed at Les's wedding to Cilla after being sued for assault by the Street's layabout.

"They are my favourite band in real life and I will be their special guest," Bruce told The Sun. "It should be a great night."

Bruce was suspended from Corrie in March, before eventually being dropped by the soap in May.
