The 26-year-old – who is most noted for her role as glitzy Chardonnay Lane-Pascoe in the ITV football drama – will appear on the Cobbles as Lindsey, wife of catalogue guru Tony Gordon (Gray O'Brien).
Carla (Alison King) took an interest in Tony, who is an old golfing friend of her now-dead husband Paul (Sean Gallagher), when he turned up at the factory to buy Underworld stock.
According to the soap's official website, Susie begins filming at the Manchester-based soap next week and will first appear on screen next month.
Footballers' Wives was axed last year after a ratings drop.
Susie has since appeared in Hotel Babylon and BBC daytime medical soap Doctors for its 1000th episode.
