The actress, who plays Michelle Connor in the ITV1 soap, said 10-year-old Emily has begun acting classes and is keen to join her mum on the cobbles.

Ryder's character will be at the centre of a dramatic new plot twist this Christmas, when she discovers that her son Ryan may have been the victim of a hospital mix-up at birth. Her anguish intensifies when she meets Alex, who could be her real son.
She said: "He's the image of Michelle's late partner Dean. It's like looking at the lad she fell in love with."
