Corrie's David grilled by Jeremy Kyle
Coronation Street's David Platt looks to have finally met his match in the form of ITV's to-the-point chatshow host Jeremy Kyle.

Jack P Shepherd – who plays Weatherfield's troubled teen – is a huge fan of The Jeremy Kyle Show and relished the opportunity of taking his Street alter-ego onto the programme.

Shepherd said: "I have to say that waiting in the green room of The Jeremy Kyle Show was one of the most surreal experiences of my life.

"David is properly messed up and I guess if the storyline was real life, he would definitely qualify for an ear-bashing from Jeremy Kyle."

The spoof reel, produced for itv.com and never intended for broadcast, sees Jeremy evaluate the teenager's recent behaviour: "Many feel sorry for a person like David Platt. He was abandoned by his father, his mother wanted to abort him and his stepdad wanted him dead. He also feels ostracised and second best to his sister Sarah.

"Some may say he needs an arm around his shoulder, most of the time I think he needs a size 10 shoe up his backside! At the end of the day I could sort him out in about three minutes on my show. That's a fact.

"I had some sympathy for him when he found out his mother coerced his girlfriend into having an abortion, but the boy has no guidance. He needs a male influence in his life."

He added: "He is a devious little so-and-so."
