Corrie chiefs reward newcomer Michelle
Coronation Street chiefs are planning to increase the role of newcomer Michelle Keegan.

Michelle, who plays David Platt's girlfriend Tina McIntyre, has been a hit with fans of the soap in recent months and producers are now hoping to capitalise on her success.

An insider told The People: "Tina will fall out with her parents and turn up on the Platts' doorstep for a place to stay. We will introduce her wider family so we can create more storylines for her. It shows how impressed everyone is with Michelle."

Reece Dinsdale, known for his role as Matthew Willows in sitcom Home to Roost, has signed up to play Michelle's on-screen father.
